Business cards

Four more days and counting - time to get my ducks in a row. Thanks to my hubby, I was able to print out some business cards with some info I wanted others to have in order to stay in touch. My first attempt was a disaster! My hubby has printed out really nice labels for his wine through the Avery site so I asked him to help. He came through for me like I knew he would. This was so much easier than writing all the numbers and sites down myself in addition to tackling one of those obstacles of the computing type. I joked with some co-workers earlier in the summer that maybe I'd come back after retirement as a consultant. Someone commented that I should have put that on the card. Ha,ha!!

Brownies

Well, I have 5 more days before retirement. I've even started making some of those recipes I've been talking about for so long. Yesterday it was the brownie recipe using a can of black beans. I know it sounds pretty yucky even knowing that black beans are tasteless. Others have told me no one can tell the difference but I was still hesitant. I did chicken out somewhat and made my glazed mint brownies. I figured that would mask any unfamiliar taste. I took them into work and they were well received even after finding out what was in them. The mint part really helped though. To be perfectly honest, I didn't care for the texture. They also didn't raise like the usual brownies but they were very moist. I can now safely throw the recipe away and not look back. I hope this will be one of many.

Upcoming retirement

Six days and counting - that's what I have until retirement! There will be no more putting things off until I have the time. The time will be now. This blog will be a compilation of my interests and what I accomplish. They are varied - cooking, crafts, music, travel, family, exercise, gardening, or whatever else I may decide. I can do whatever I want, cause, hey, I'm (almost) retired!
